Today, the Sentient Foundation is introducing Sentient Sparks, a new contributor pathway for community members who want to take a visible, strategic role in growing Sentient and advancing open source AI.
Sentient Sparks is designed to recognize our existing community while welcoming new thought leaders into the fold. Members gain access, incentives, and a direct line to the core team, empowering them to help shape how open source AI is built, understood, and adopted.
Each month, we will feature 10 Sentient Sparks, selected based on the quality, consistency, and impact of their contributions:
• 6 Global Contributors
Creators and contributors who can shape narratives, influence discourse, and lead conversations at a global level.
• 4 Regional Contributors from key markets
Local operators and creators with strong community roots, regional context, and native fluency.
If you care about artificial intelligence, open source technologies, and explaining how they work and why they matter, this program is for you. Whether you host Spaces, create thoughtful or viral content, onboard builders, or help communities navigate the wild west of open source LLMs and AI development, we want you involved.
Open source AI has entered a period of rapid acceleration. In 2025 alone, breakthroughs such as DeepSeek’s low cost, high output models and Gemini 3’s Nano Banana Pro pushing benchmark boundaries have reshaped what is possible. Yet as progress multiplies, the open source thesis risks being drowned out.
Sentient Foundation exists to champion open source AI. Our mission is to develop open source AGI free from single entity control. Through Sentient Labs and a global community of builders, we accelerate research, experimentation, and real world deployment.
In recent months, Sentient Labs has shipped multiple breakthroughs, including the open source token research agent SERA-Agent, published four research papers accepted to NeurIPS 2025, and grown to over two million users within months of launch. These are meaningful milestones for an early stage AI lab, and they underscore the need to amplify our work and our values.
We believe in a future where intelligence can dream. Dreaming machines, designed in the open, built through collaboration. Activating that future requires more than technology. It requires voices, storytellers, educators, and community leaders who can cut through the noise.
Sentient Sparks is a growth layer that:
• enables consistent content creation and grassroots activation, including Sentient-approved, community-led meetups
• expands Sentient’s footprint across communities, cultures, and languages
• ensures the open source AI story is told clearly, credibly, and by the right voices to the right builders and thinkers
Sentient Sparks operate with autonomy and clear alignment. They publish original content on their own channels, educate newcomers to open source AI, and build communities both online and IRL.
In addition, Sentient Sparks may:
• cover product launches, strategic partnerships, integrations, and key strategy updates
• co-host AMAs, Spaces, regional events, and IRL meetups
• share regional insights, feedback, and community signal directly with the core team

How to apply
Applications are always open. Sentient Sparks are featured and rotated monthly. Current Sparks are assessed on an internal monthly leaderboard, with the top 5–7 continuing in the program while a new wave of Sparks is onboarded each cycle.
